Making Healthy Employees

Every small business owner wants healthy employees.  Healthy employees come in to work more often, they can be more productive and they won’t constantly spread their illnesses to others in the workplace.

Along with motivating employees, encouraging teamwork and fulfilling all of the other responsibilities of a small business owner, small business owners should promote healthy lifestyles amongst their employees.

This Wednesday is National Employee Health and Fitness Day.  It was founded in 1989 by the National Foundation for Health & Fitness and “…it centers around state and company supported exercise, such as walks like America on the Move and activity programs like the President’s Council Challenge,” (epromos.com).

What better time to encourage health amongst your employees?  Here are some ideas.

  • Provide healthy snacks
  • Offer health-related benefits
  • Provide incentives for meeting certain health goals
