Get Caught Reading (It Can Help Your Business)

For some people, reading is something they let go of as soon as they walk across the stage to receive a diploma.  However, as a small business owner, reading should be a part of your everyday routine.  It helps you to catch up on what’s happening in your industry, provides you with tips on becoming a more successful business owner and allows you the opportunity to discover what methods have and have not worked for other business owners in the past.

Whether a newspaper, magazine, book or journal, reading opens up the mind to new ideas and concepts and reinforces old ones.

Read a Book

There have been millions of books written that can be beneficial to small business owners.  In fact, small business owners can often learn important values that can be applied to their businesses, from books that are not even intentionally directed towards small business owners.

Write a Book

For business owners, writing a book has multiple benefits.  One; as an expert in your field, you can educate others and provide them with the knowledge that you have acquired.  Two; you can promote and raise awareness of your business.  Three; you can receive an additional source of revenue (book sales).

Lawyer and author, Stephen Pollan offers great advice on how to write a book.
