What Color Are You?
Now is your chance to find out if you really should be a small business owner, because according to deweycolorsytem.org, The Career Color Indicator, a test used to determine which career path is best for individuals based on their color preferences, is now the world’s most accurate test.
In order to test the test (who doesn’t love irony) USA Today organized a group of 900 CEOs to participate in the color test. I won’t tell you which colors they liked and disliked because I don’t want to persuade your color choices in any way before you take the test yourself, but I will say that many of them had very similar color preferences. And according to an Inc.com article about the personality test, “…psychiatry professor Rense Lange said the CEOs’ results – compared with the answers provided by some 750,000 others who’ve taken the online test – reveal that the CEOs are wired differently than everyone else.”
Don’t start looking for “for sale” signs to put outside your business if your results show that you’re better suited for a different career. “…the results are not a prediction of failure,” wrote Courtney Rubin for Inc.com. Furthermore, Dewey Sadka, the tests creator, who spent 15 years developing it, told carerrbuilder.com, “Color preference indicates your personality’s best career fit. Preferred colors indicate passionate career pursuits; non-preferred choices establish workplace skills you least enjoy.”
You can use the test to determine which areas you might need to work on, as mentioned above, least preferred colors indicate workplace skills you least enjoy and therefore may avoid doing. You can also use these tests on your employees, either for fun or to determine which jobs within your business they might excel in.
