Understanding Time Management and Celebrating Youth Leadership
With every month, various causes are recognized nationally. In fact, there are over 200 commemorative months that are recognized in a given year. The month of February is recognized as both National Time Management Month and National Youth Leadership Month. So it seemed quite fitting to create a post raising awareness on both of these subjects.
Time Management
Time management is a skill that is essential for almost all small business owners to have. With the assortment of hats that a small business owner must wear, it can be very difficult to keep track of time and very easy to over-schedule and over-extend one’s self which can eventually be detrimental to a business.
Small business owners can use time management exercises and games to get a better grasp on time and ensure that all matters are taken care of in a timely manner. The following sites offer informative articles and tips about both personal and business time management.
Youth Leadership
Though the 55-64 age bracket shows the most entrepreneurial activity, there are many young entrepreneurs that are making strides in small business.
Entrepreneurship among youth is encouraged by the various programs, such as The National Federation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), which “Provides entrepreneurship education programs to young people from low-income communities,” and Global Entrepreneurship Week, which was created to “…inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity.” Also, many colleges have begun to offer entrepreneurship as a major.
